This portfolio formally brings together PolicyLab researchers and communications and policy staff to ensure children and families are getting the behavioral health services they need, and builds on existing research portfolios supporting child health and well-being.

CHOP PolicyLab along with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s (CHOP) Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, as well as others across the CHOP network, compiled the research featured in this portfolio.

In the Behavioral Health Portfolio overview brief, they describe four areas of focus, including:

  • Screening and Connecting to Care
  • Integration into Medical Settings
  • Integration into Community Settings
  • Evidence-based Prevention and Treatment

Through this work and continued collaboration with partners and decision-makers, the hope it is to provide evidence-based solutions to support programs and policies that recognize the importance of childhood mental health. Nurturing all aspects of behavioral health can help youth be their healthiest selves both emotionally and physically.
